To the Guardian Angel
P. 225

1. O my angel, I adore with you that word of light with which the Lord called you to existence, creature of light, son of light, living only by the light of God.

2. O my angel, I adore with you that breath of love with which the Lord called me to existence, creature of love, son of love, living in the heart of the love of God.

3. The good God has united us together, and as he said to me to behave and to live with you as son of light, so he would have said to you to behave and to live with me, as son of love.

4. From you, pure spirit, O my angel, the spirituality of God, emanates rays of his perfections in the inferior creation; in me he irradiates rays of light to assimilate me to his nature and to unite me with his persons.

5. O my angel, we will do together in time this work in the material world, and together we will render in eternity the triumph over matter; work and triumph worthy of God.

6. God has separated forever the darkness from the light, hate from love. Keep away from me the spirit of hate and of darkness, as it is away from God himself.

7. Obtain that as the Word, who first became the incarnated Son of God, and then made himself host, under the Eucharistic species; making of the material the only use that is worthy of God.

8. Obtain that I, human spirit, with your angelic help, may, must and want to use my body, in time and in space, not satisfying but spiritualizing it.

9. Grant that following the example and the virtue of Jesus crucified and present in the Eucharist, like an angel of God, I may be able to let Jesus live and shine in my mortal flesh.
