In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Act of Contrition
V) We worship you, O Christ, and we bless you.
R) Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.
Holy Mother, grant that the wounds of Jesus may be engraved upon my heart. (at the beginning of each station)
STATION I - JESUS IS CONDEMNED TO DEATH
O my Jesus, I cannot consent to your condemnation! I condemn to death every mortal and venial sin in me and in every human being. I abandon myself with you to your passion and death.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION II - JESUS RECEIVES THE CROSS
Am I your cross, 0 Jesus? Certainly, I have been your cross in the past! Am I still your cross now? I want you to look at me, hear me, embrace me with a love different from the love of the cross! Oh, that all people may be of glory to you, for reasons superior to the reasons that caused the prodigal son to return home!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION III - JESUS FALLS FOR THE FIRST TIME UNDER THE CROSS
May all the physical weaknesses become strength for the soul! Place in my heart tenderness of love so that I may understand and help to raise those who fall. May all the enemies of my soul - enemies that I have encouraged with my faults - may they fall, and never rise again against my soul!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION IV - THE ENCOUNTER WITH THE MOTHER
O Blessed Virgin, Mother of God ..., the suffering heart has called you from far away 0 “My Mother”. Since then everyone who suffers calls you near “Mother of God! My Mother”! And truly you always come near to the ones who suffer, and you show yourself to be a real mother! And near every broken heart there is Jesus, and he suffers all our pains.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION V - SIMEON OF SYRENE HELPS JESUS TO CARRY THE CROSS
Not by chance are you in everyone who suffers and struggles to carry the cross. You have burdened yourself with all our sufferings, and we have burdened you with our faults. You take upon yourself all our crosses, you offer us forgiveness for our faults, and indulgence for our debts. 0 Blessed forever!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION VI - JESUS’ FACE IS WIPED BY VERONICA
O Son! I wish that the Holy Spirit might engrave your heart upon my whole being! O my Jesus, I want to show your face to everyone, so that everyone may follow you in love! O my Jesus, I wish that you could see in me the image of the Father with the expression of the Holy Spirit.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION VII - JESUS FALLS THE SECOND TIME UNDER THE CROSS
Through this fall, O Jesus, you give us the strength to overcome discouragements and disappointments. Grant that I may never be discouraged in my way to perfection. Grant that I may never be subjected - on account of my faults - to any influence of the evil spirit.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION VIII - JESUS ENCOUNTERS THE PIOUS WOMEN
Oh! May I encounter you in every suffering, and may I sympathize with those who suffer, as if it were you in person. May I also encounter your eyes and your heart in every suffering, and may I be consoled by you. O my Jesus, may every soul be close to you, so that everyone may be able to sense your heart in the eyes of his brother.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION IX - JESUS FALLS FOR THE THIRD TIME UNDER THE CROSS
I believe that you fainted feeling the supreme sacrifice, which was the mysterious abandonment of the Father, O my Lord! I glorify your love for the human soul, your heart of flesh for the Father! It lifts you up and offers you to the crucifixion, and even to greater sufferings, before death itself.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION X - JESUS IS STRIPPED OF HIS GARMENTS
I cannot look at your body covered with blood, without fear of going crazy. Suffering this humiliation, you obtain for me the dress of light, of peace and of glory, with which you want to see me imitating you always! May I never give the enemy the power to strip me of the habits of virtue, with which you have adorned me.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION XI - JESUS IS NAILED TO THE CROSS
Who can assist at this slaughter? Not even if it were a poor lamb still alive! Those strokes hammer the soul and the heart! I cannot listen to them without fear of going crazy! At each stroke the whole body shakes! And the soul moans the prayer: Father, forgive them!
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION XII - JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS
Say for me to the Father: “Forgive him, Father, because he did not know what he was doing!” Say for me to the sorrowful Mother: “Behold your son!” Say to me also: “Behold your Mother!” Say to me, O Jesus, now and at the hour of my death: “Today you will be with me in paradise!” Say it also to every dying person.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION XIII - JESUS IS TAKEN DOWN FROM THE CROSS
I adore you, O Son of God, O divinity still present in the body taken down from the cross. I adore you in the hands of the blessed Mother! I would like to adore you with her tears, with her wounded heart. I would like to be worthy to receive you in my hands, in your passion continued throughout the centuries.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
STATION XIV - JESUS IS BURIED IN THE TOMB
O my God, my heart is a sepulchre! Adorned with flowers on the outside, but filled with ugly things inside! But you, through the ministry of the angels, you may purify it! Through your Spirit you have consecrated it! Come in my heart! Remain in my heart! May you celebrate in my heart your resurrection and your ascension into heaven.
Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be.
