It embraces various acts:
A) PREPARATION: The soul focuses its attention and unites itself to Christ (praying as he did, with him, and in him).
B) ADORATION: Jesus is considered the main actor in the meditation’s topic; one admires his feelings and dispositions; one corresponds with feelings of adoration, congratulations, and gratitude (Jesus before our eyes).
C) COMMUNION: The soul - convinced of the need to share Jesus’ spirit - makes its own the feelings and expressions that have been contemplated in him. The soul makes acts of contrition for the past, desires for the future and asks of God the interior spirit of Jesus for the advantage of the Church (Jesus in the heart).
D) COOPERATION: To become always more like Jesus, the soul formulates humble, but courageous and practical resolutions, renews the particular resolution and abandons itself to the Holy Spirit. (Jesus in our hands).
E) CONCLUSION: One thanks God for the help received during the meditation; one asks forgiveness for failures and help to keep the resolutions made; one forms a spiritual posy selecting a thought or a phrase that, during the day, will call to mind the meditation, and will encourage us to renew the fruit of the meditation.
