A) FIRST PRELUDE: composition of place with imaginative elements, if object of the meditation is concrete; with elements of fantasy if the object is not a sensitive reality.
B) SECOND PRELUDE: Ask God for some spiritual fruits related to the object of the meditation.
C) INVOLVEMENT OF ALL THE FACULTIES IN EACH POINT OF THE MEDITATION:
C.1) THE MEMORY recalls the meditation’s topic and everything pertaining to the same.
C.2) THE INTELLECT scrutinizes and studies in detail the proposed topic, keeping in mind what it means for us, and the practical consequences that derive from it.
C.3) THE WILL manifests to God its feeling of devotion and resolutions for the future.
C.4) DIALOGUE: Imagine that you are before Jesus on the cross and that you are talking to him - heart to heart - just as a friend to another friend, or as a servant to his master, and according to the case: accusing yourself of the wrong you have done, or sharing with him your thoughts and asking his advice on the same.
